Companion Pets are a series of robot pets released by Hasbro. The companion cats were released in 2015 and were followed by a companion pup in 2016, a companion kitten in 2018, and Walker Squawker a robot bird in 2021. The marketing is targeted towards older adults. It has won several awards and are highly rated. The birds are intended to be fastened to mobility aids.
The tuxedo cat was released in 2018, soon replacing the creamy white cat. The freckled pup was released in Fall 2020. The kitten is no longer being sold as of about 2020.
Functions[]
The companion cats and pups have soft fur and respond to hugs and petting by moving their heads, blinking and making noises. When not being played with, they will fall asleep.
The Walker Squawker makes bird sounds and have sensors that react to sound and movement. When attached to a mobility walker, the bird will sing songs. It has seven songs total, singing a "don't forget me" song only after it detects that walking has stopped.
